We refer to membership at Upcounty Church as partnership.  What does partnership mean? 

Partnership is an expression of commitment to Jesus Christ and active participation in the mission of Upcounty Church.  It's a shared, active commitment. When you're ready, you may want to explore membership.  We've tried to make it simple by asking people to commit to the 3 C’s:  

Connect with God as a growing follower of Jesus Christ and help others connect with him too.* 

Connect with others by being actively involved in a Upcounty Church neighborhood small group and the Sunday service. 

Care for people in the ministry of Upcounty Church and in our community by using your time, talents and resources to serve them. 

* Part of exploring partnership includes taking UpStart, an introductory spiritual class. It’s an interactive class on what the Bible says about how to be a Christian, growing spiritually as a Christian, our core beliefs, vision and mission as a church, and how to get more connected at Upcounty Church. Is partnership required to participate in serving? 

No, we don't require partnership to serve or push it on people.  Most ministries are open for anyone to participate in. We do believe that it's helpful for anyone who wants to serve to read over our purpose, mission, values and core beliefs as a church.  We do ask that anyone who is interested leadership on a team or group become a partner first. 

What is the first step toward exploring partnership? 

Volunteering on a Sunday Ministry Team (i.e., serve once a month) or visiting a small group is an easy way to see if getting more involved at Upcounty Church is for you.  You can serve temporarily or for a longer period of time.  And, please feel free to visit any small group once or more.  There's no pressure to join, stay or do anything else.
